VCR Induction Course
Only applicants who have completed the VCR Induction course are considered for VCR registration.
VCR induction course is available online. The online course is open to people who wish to join VCR. This online course is targeted at company owners, directors, senior management or sole traders of any business who are looking to be listed on VCR.
The mandatory course as part of the VCR registration requirement, explores the obligations as a member under the VCR Code of Ethics, details the various documents required to submit with an application, and looks at the assessment and review procedures by the VCR Admissions and Registration Board (VARB). The course also goes through the requirements of CPD as a member and any other ongoing obligations.
This online course has an interactive feature that requires the participant to answer questions and obtain a pass mark before being considered for registration. Participants can take the course at any time, and it has a save feature that allows participants to pick up where they left off if they can’t take the course in one sitting.
Course Fee: The fee for the VCR Induction course is €50 per participant.

Continuing Professional Development
Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is the term used to describe the learning activities VCR registrants engage in to develop and enhance their abilities.
The initial stages of the CPD process will enable your business to access training and educational events to improve the knowledge and skills within your business. The VCR CPD Office will assist and support all VCR Registered companies in accessing programme and events which will have attached CPD points.
VCR Registrants are required to supply an annual CPD Record with their registration renewal.
VCR Annual Renewals
VCR requires all members to renew their registration annually.
To renew your VCR registration you will need the following.
- Tax clearance status / details
- A letter from your insurance company and/ or insurance broker stating that the applicant has the appropriate insurances in place.
- A copy of your completed Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Plan
